Communion: Black Feminism + Study + Spirituality
The Church of Black Feminist Thought presents
COMMUNION: Black Feminism + Study + Spirituality
May 3 - 29, 2019
In this exhibition communion is a holding of black femme refractions. Introspection, ethnography and truth-telling converge in an array of works by Bay Area artists who create in a tradition of world-making that we name “black feminist study.” The works selected display a range of approaches to the representation of black femininity and spirituality.
